New Hope for Kids Annual Report

Timeline: 14 weeks

Role: Graphic Designer, Editorial Designer

Editorial Design

As a class assignment, I was tasked with designing an annual report fro the New Hope for Kids Annual non-profit organization. The goal was to translate a year of complex financial data, milestone achievements, and heartfelt Wish Stories into a cohesive, professional, and visually engaging publication.

Design Challenge

The task was to develop a 20-page annual report for New Hope for Kids organization in Central Florida. The primary challenge was balancing the sensitive nature of grief support and financial information with a professional corporate document that reports on over $1.2 million in revenue and expenses.

Concept

I decided to name my report Colors of Hope, a vibrant, uplifting identity designed to reflect the organization's mission of delivering joy and healing to families in crisis. The concept moves away from the typical somber tone of grief-focused organizations, instead using a bright palette to emphasize the resilience and strength of the children served.

User Research

I developed a comprehensive editorial system that balances high-level financial reporting with sensitive, human-centric storytelling. By curating a vibrant visual identity, I transformed complex 2023 impact data into accessible infographics and engaging Wish Stories program. The final report utilizes a clear information hierarchy to guide stakeholders from mission-driven narratives to technical financial transparency, ensuring the organization's legacy of healing is felt on every page.
